We can arrange for a member of our Health and Wellbeing Team to provide care for your loved one, as often and for as long as you need, so you can have some respite. This means our team member will be on hand to assist with your loved one’s needs as well as being a source of company for them.

We understand the importance of primary caregivers taking a break to focus on their own needs. Time away from care duties can make you happier, healthier and better able to deal with the demands of caring. It helps you return to your loved one feeling rejuvenated and with greater levels of tolerance and patience.

How We Can Assist
  • Social interaction in the community
  • Support with using public transport and escorting on journeys
  • Company whilst doing hobbies
  • Food preparation
  • Light housekeeping
  • Emotional support
  • Help with everyday tasks such as shopping
  • Support on a day trip
  • Personal care and continence needs
  • Moving and handling

However, we also understand that it is difficult to take time away from your loved one and you may feel on edge about doing so. Unique’s Health and Wellbeing Team is highly trained to provide quality and personalised care so you can take comfort in the knowledge that your loved one is being well cared for when you are away. We also provide regular updates on each care visit so you can be reassured that your loved one is receiving the care they need.
