Recent studies show that the number of over-50s experiencing loneliness is set to reach two million by 2025/6. Over half a million older people go at least five days a week without seeing or speaking to anyone and two fifths of older people state that the television is their main form of company.

At Unique, we can help your loved one feel less lonely by providing companionship when and where they need it.

How We Can Assist
  • Managing household tasks
  • Participating in hobbies and interests
  • Shopping trips
  • Short excursions or days out
  • Company within the house or outside

Care at home does not always involve personal care or completing tasks around the house. Companionship care focuses on your loved one’s hobbies and interests and how they can continue participating in them. Together with a member of our Health and Wellbeing Team, they can complete a puzzle, watch their favourite programme, go on a walk or partake in any other activity that they enjoy. Sometimes, just being in the company of another person is a great source of comfort, support and stimulation.

We offer a flexible approach to companion care, working in accordance with your schedule so we can be with your loved one when you cannot. We also provide regular updates on our care visits so you can be assured that they are being well-cared for when you are not there.
