Dementia Support Groups – for loved ones and carers
This is a weekly support group for loved ones, family members, carers or the person diagnosed with dementia themselves. Held weekly, every Wednesday at 11am or 2pm. You pick a time that works best for you, and we will be here to listen and provide support.
Young Onset Dementia Support Group – for those diagnosed with young onset dementia and their loved ones
This is a weekly support group for people diagnosed with young onset dementia or their families, loved ones and carers. Held weekly, every Thursday at 11am or 2pm. You can book a place for either of the sessions and we will be there to support you.
Workshops – information sessions where we share our knowledge and answer questions that you may not have thought of yet!
Held weekly, every Tuesday at 2pm. Topics are changed weekly and there are 7 in total and they are presented in a 7-week cycle. If you are not available on the date that is soonest but want to attend, do not worry, you won’t miss out! Just scroll down to find the next date that the session you want to attend is held and book onto that. Topics that we cover are:
- What is dementia? The journey’s beginning
- Strategies and tips after diagnosis
- Improving and understanding communication
- The importance of surroundings and home environment to a person who has dementia
- How to live well with dementia

Where are the events?
The events are held online via a Zoom conference call. An invite link will be emailed to you when you book one of our sessions.
How much is it to attend?
Each of the support groups and information sessions are free! Just click the Book button above to pick a place and the joining details will be emailed to you.
How long do they last?
Our support groups are an hour long and take place each week. We believe that frequent support sessions are vital for maintaining mental well-being.
Who are the sessions for?
The support groups are open to anybody who has any relationship to somebody diagnosed with dementia or the person themselves. You can be a family member, neighbour, loved one, grandchild, carer, child etc. All are welcome.
The workshops and information sessions are available to anybody who would like to know more about dementia and how it effects and changes various aspects of their and loved ones lives. Many people have said that the information given in these sessions have helped them to improve quality of life for all involved.
What if I cannot make a support group session?
Do not worry if you cannot make a session. You can either book onto the session earlier or later of the original day, or you can just pop along to one of the support groups when you are next free.
How often can I attend the support groups?
As often as you like or need. If you want to attend weekly, you are more than welcome. If you want to attend less than that or do not feel up to it one day, that is also ok. It is a support group made for you and your wellbeing, so you choose when you want to attend with no obligations or pressure to attend weekly.
What if I cannot make a workshop date?
Our workshops run in a 7-week cycle. So, if there is a topic you would like to attend but cannot make that date, it is not a problem. Just simply scroll down to find the next date that the same session will be held and book onto that one.
